Born out of a time when there was, and still is, such divide in the country, as well as deep isolation, the Greater Good event is intended to inspire and bring community together by sharing across disciplines and talking about greater creative possibilities. This will be a special gathering of inspirational speakers ranging from artists to writers to business owners who are all working towards the greater good in business, personal projects, environment, outreach, service and community. The key theme to this event, keeping it connected and cohesive, will be the word “inte-GRIT-y”. This incorporates grit and tenacity within the context of integrity.

The discussions we will have are based on maintaining integrity, grit and tenacity in our personal and professional work that is part of, and going out into, our community. Our speakers are here to share their own inspiring stories to promote conversations with all participants on their passion projects - all for the greater good and all working towards a more connected community.

With these conversations, we hope to create a runway for individual or group passion projects for attendees, where ideas can be expressed, heard, valued and encouraged. A place where momentum can continue and not diminish after the event, with purity of thought and honest hopes that people will succeed in bringing ideas to fruition. By sharing conversations across multiple disciplines there is a cross pollination of thought and opening up to new ways of thinking and ideas that will ultimately benefit the community.

Topics that we will discuss during this event will range from mental health, art and design, and service oriented work in business. Prompt words / phrases for these conversations will include:

  • Being whole and undivided

  • Showing pride and responsibility

  • Being clear about intentions and expectations

  • Helping others

  • Being reliable and dependable

  • Unity, unification and wholeness
